Special Education teacher, Lalitha Shetty, has embarked on a spring of change and growth with her students.
After attending a Tech Thursdays in November, she began using Padlet with her fifth graders to brainstorm and organize thoughts.
This month, they have watched short educational videos on various topics including robots, animals, etc. on YouTube for 'response writing.' Students watch the video, are encouraged to make inferences, draw conclusions, and write about them in journals on Google Docs.
Students have also learned to publish Google docs with the following features: 'create'; change font style, color, and size,; insert pictures and resize them; print
And, currently, students are competing for 'Top Typist' , where they practice on Dance Mat typing.
In Mrs. Stewart's fifth grade reading class, students used the Curriculet app in Edmodo to document readings and increase fluency.
Stay tuned for more updates on our Spring of Change!
